KORE Position Logic Powers GPS SmartSole Solution for Patients and Caregivers

Position Logic Provides Location-Based Technology and Named North America Distributor of GTX’s SmartSoles for Tracking and Recovery

ALPHARETTA, GA. —November 9, 2016—KORE, the people powering IoT innovations and opportunities, today announced that the company will integrate GTX Corp’s (OTCBB: GTXO), GPS SmartSole® into the Position Logic platform. Additionally, Position Logic will be a distributor of GPS SmartSoles in North America.

GPS SmartSole combines a miniaturized GPS device and cellular communicator to send coordinates of loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism or any other cognitive memory disorder to their caregivers. GPS SmartSoles look and feel like regular insoles, and allow the wearer to be free from the stigma of visible bracelets, pedants and other traditional tracking devices. GPS SmartSole technology is integrated with a mobile app that allows caregivers to track their loved ones in seconds, lessening their worry and anxiety about wandering.

Per the agreement, Position Logic customers will now be able to purchase GPS SmartSoles as a hardware on the Postion Logic platform and then offer it to end-users in the personal tracking space.

“Currently there are 100 million people worldwide who are part of this at risk wandering group, including patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism and traumatic brain injury, and that number is expected to reach 277 million by 2050. We’re happy to be working with Position Logic on this integration/distribution agreement and are eager to see the results we know they can drive in North America to help this population,” said Tom Adams, VP Sales Strategy.

“Position Logic is constantly seeking new innovative ways to support and deliver greater value to our service providers. With the integration of the SmartSole device in our device library; our service providers can differentiate themselves and offer additional personal monitoring and tracking services. The SmartSole hardware unique form factor presents several advantages especially around people prone to wandering or getting lost,” said Felix Lluberes, executive vice president, advanced applications, KORE.

The Real Risk of Wandering

One of the most concerning and frantic feelings comes from when a family member and loved one wanders and becomes lost. Families, communities and law enforcement alike are brought together to find that missing person.

According to Home Instead Senior Care network, nearly 50% of family members surveyed have experienced a loved one with Alzheimer’s wandering or getting lost and in addition, six out of 10 adults with Alzheimer’s or another form of Dementia will have a tendency to wander. Wandering and getting lost is common among people with dementia and can happen during any stage of the disease.

When someone is living with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, autism or other neurological memory disorders, there are times when sights and sounds (i.e, a police or ambulance siren) may frighten them to misinterpret their environment and cause them to wander away from their known familiar places. Similarly, when the individual is in a crowded and over stimulating environment, they may wander away to escape the commotion.

Other reasons why an individual may wander away from a safe place, including their own home, is when they may not recognize the new space and aim to return to a place that recollects to them as being safe, such as a past workplace.  Also, when a high change in routine occurs, the individual may become confused of their surroundings and seek solitude elsewhere.

blog1 The Real Risk of Wandering
Luckily, in some incidents the wide connections of social media and law enforcement in the communities results in the wanderer being able to return home, safely. However, there are times the incident ends in tragedy for someone who is lost and confused in an unfamiliar place. In July 2016, 90 year-old Bonnie Walker was reported missing from her senior assisted-living facility. After having slipped down a ravine while she was walking, Ms. Walker was later found dead after sustaining blunt force injuries from an alligator following her fall.

There are many resources for caregivers and family members of someone with Alzheimer’s or another form of Dementia who has a tendency to wander. Whether support is needed for the caregiver or if a technological device, such as the GPS SmartSole is needed to monitor the user’s whereabouts, there are options for a wanderer. One incident of wandering is one too many and it is highly suggested to address the situation before a loved one becomes lost and tragedy ensues.

GTX Corp and RACO Industries Sign Distribution Agreement to Sell SmartSoles

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA –July 13, 2016 – GTX Corp (OTCBB: GTXO), an IoT platform in the personal location GPS wearable and wandering assistive technology business announced the signing of a distribution agreement with , a GPS application solutions integrator headquartered in Cincinnati Ohio. The agreement grants RACO exclusive distribution rights to the Location Based Services industry in the United States for the GPS SmartSoles and other GTX Corp products. In order to maintain exclusivity, RACO is committing to purchasing a minimum of 15,000 units over the next 3 years.

Established in 1988, RACO is a privately held company founded by Rob Adams who was also the founder of RacoWireless. “The GPS SmartSole technology is a natural extension of our existing GPS tracking business. We are excited to partner with GTX Corp to provide assistance to those who suffer from cognitive disorders,” says Rob Adams, CEO of RACO Industries.

“As we continue to expand our channels of distribution we are excited to bring on a new partner in the U.S. that has a deep understanding of systems integration and the overall GPS/Wireless industry, stated Patrick Bertagna GTX Corp CEO.

GTX Corp’s patented GPS SmartSoles®, which were featured in AARP’s 2015 technology gear guide are a stigma free, safety and security unobtrusive monitoring and tracking solution for those afflicted from Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, TBI and other memory disorders and have a tendency to wander. They are placed in the wearer’s shoes and contain a miniaturized GPS tracking chip connected through a cellular network that sends a signal to a monitoring portal or app, showing the exact location of the individual wearing the SmartSoles. They come in several trim to fit sizes for both men and women, are water resistant, made with the highest quality electronic components and assembled in Rhode Island, U.S.A.

The simplicity behind the SmartSole Platform is that when someone wanders off or becomes lost, a text or email alert is sent to a caregiver’s phone and computer with a direct link to a Google map plotting the wanderer’s location.  Alerts can be directed to a local authority and/or a private Call Centre to provide continuous monitoring and support.

Currently Alzheimer’s and dementia impacts over 6 million people in the U.S. with predictions of 16 million by the year 2050. Alzheimer’s is such a demanding condition, that it often impairs the health of those caring for the victims. Nearly 10 million caregivers, mostly family members, spend $148 billion dollars year for the care of their loved ones.

GTX Corp Signs Agreement with Possum Ltd Expanding Distribution of the SmartSole across UK and Ireland

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA –June 8, 2016 – GTX Corp (OTCBB: GTXO), an IoT platform in the personal location GPS wearable and wandering assistive technology business, announced the commercial launch of the GPS SmartSole with Possum Ltd, a B2B Healthcare and Telehealth provider conducting business across the UK and Ireland.

Possum is an independent, privately owned British company which develops, manufactures, supplies, installs and supports Electronic Assistive Technology products and systems to the National Health Service and distributes and supports a wide range of products to the Telehealth and Technology Enabled Care and Support markets.  Established in 1961, Possum is a former holder of one of the most prestigious business awards in the UK, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.

Philip Robinson, Managing Director of Possum stated, “Deploying new innovative technologies such as the GPS SmartSoles, which can improve health outcomes, increase independence, reduce loneliness and isolation is what we are all about.  The GTX team has been wonderful to work with.  We signed our Agreement last week, issued a PO right away and they have already shipped us our first order.”

Andrew Duncan, GTX Corp Director stated, “Possum is a major provider of Electronic Assistive Technology and Telehealth products in the UK.  Possum has strong relationships in the National Health Service and with local authorities. We are very excited to be working with them to develop this growing market.”

“In 2015, it was estimated that there were 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. As a result of memory, physical and communication challenges, people with dementia may experience social isolation and loneliness. Going for a walk can sometimes be a challenge for them, which can lead to getting lost or disorientated even in familiar surroundings. These distressing experiences can result in reduced activity, increased social isolation and increased caregiver stress, so any form of technology that can support people to get out and move about more safely and confidently, such as the GPS SmartSoles is a significant quality of life improvement. We look forward to working with Possum as their mission and ours are in complete alignment – harness wearable technology to empower people,” said Nelson Skip Riddle, GTX UK Healthcare Adviser.

Possum will be exhibiting the GPS SmartSole this week at the Alzheimer’s Show in London, which is a two-day event for family caregivers and healthcare professionals who want to learn more about dementia and the available solutions in the market place.

GTX Corp Recognizes National Senior Independence Month

February is National Senior Independence Month, which means assessing the needed aspects in seniors’ lives to keep them safe, but still independent. Aging does not mean losing independence and the ability to enjoy life. However, it is important to be sure to keep your loved ones, or yourself, safe in the home or place of living, in order to continue being independent.

According to research by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), nearly 90% of seniors want to stay in their own homes as they age, often referred to as “aging in place.” Even when seniors begin to need day-to-day assistance or ongoing health care during retirement, most (82%) would prefer to stay in their homes.  Only a few express a preference for moving to a facility where care is provided (9%) or for moving to a relative’s home (4 percent).

A few tips for remaining independent:

  • Daily Check-In
  • Organize a daily check in with a loved one or friend, and offer to do the same for those living independently, to make sure everything is okay on a daily basis. If you don’t have anyone you can count on for a daily check in, medical alert systems also offer systems to check in once a day.
  • Prevent Falls
  • Clear the residence of loose items that may become a tripping hazard, such as: area rugs with loose corners, electrical cords, shoes and items on the floor. Placing rugs at the top or bottom of stairways can also be dangerous and cause falls. Improved, bright lighting assists with preventing trips and falls in the residence.
  • Emergency Preparation
  •  Keep a list of your pertinent emergency information such as allergies, medications, emergency information with you at all times. If family and friends do not live nearby, have a neighbor nearby as an emergency contact. Ensure that fire alarms are kept in working order, and ensure there’s a key available via a lock-box, in case someone needs to enter the home in an emergency.

GTX Corp offers an array of products that can assist in daily life, for those who want to stay independent, but may need some assistive monitoring in order to do so. The feature that distinguishes our GPS SmartSole® from other wandering assistive devices is that it is the world’s only invisible tracking technology.  The ability to hide the technology inside a shoe preserves the privacy and dignity of the wearer – an essential component for those in independent living environments. This feature is incredibly crucial when it comes to those, especially seniors, living with or in the stages of developing Alzheimer’s and Dementia, whom have a tendency to remove wearable monitoring items that are not concealed like the GPS SmartSole®.

A recent 5-star review by a caregiver illuminates how our SmartSoles can alleviate the concern associated with caring for a loved one whom requires monitoring, while sustaining independence:

“C.H. has had Alzheimer’s for nine years now and I am determined to keep him at home for as long as I can….”
