First Quarter Results

 

  • Revenue increased 593% over 2014 comparable period

  • Net loss reduced 82% versus Q1 2014
  • Raised $225,000 from fixed price convertible notes

“Q1 2015 represented a turning point in the history of the Company,” commented Patrick Bertagna, CEO of GTX Corp. “We successfully launched our flagship GPS SmartSoles in domestic and international markets, both through B2B and B2C channels.  The demand for our products is strong and growing, with initial sales going to specific pilot programs, international distributors and retail customers.  A significant amount of our initial inventory was allocated to pilot programs and evaluation units to government and private enterprises that have a defined need for tracking people who have a tendency to wander due to Alzheimer’s, dementia or autism.  Many of those pilots and evaluation units have and will continue to convert to commercial deployments and begin contributing to our subscriber base of recurring monitoring revenues which we are starting to see grow month over month.”

Revenue increased from $20,814 in Q1 2014 to $144,212 in Q1 2015, primarily due to the launch and initial sales of the Company’s flagship GPS SmartSoles.  Gross margin increased from $10,914 in Q1 2014 to $41,863 in Q1 2015 representing the higher level of sales activity and primarily initial hardware sales in Q1 2015.  Net loss decreased by 82% from Q1 2014 to Q1 2015, primarily resulting from the shift in business strategy which we  announced in 2014 and elimination of derivative liabilities associated with floating convertible debentures, all of which have been retired.

Bertagna continued, “As we move through the second quarter, our focus remains on building brand and product awareness, growing our channels of distribution and affiliate partners, and increasing our subscriber base.  We have grown our distribution and affiliate partners to close to 100 so far this year, spanning 13 countries worldwide.  As we continue penetrating our target markets, we are refining our end user services and pricing models to achieve the broadest adoption and eliminate as many barriers to purchase as possible. On the product development side, we expect to roll out the BLE product line later this summer, and we have initiated the development of our next generation (Gen 2 SmartSole) which will be smaller, lower in price, and a longer battery life. Outside of our flagship SmartSoles, we continue to see steady sales growth for drone applications and digital smart phone tracking Apps, each of which contribute to the increase of our recurring subscriber base revenues.”

In 2014, we successfully completed the transition from a licensing model to owning our own product design, manufacturing, sales and distribution, and we cleaned our balance sheet to properly enter 2015 by eliminating all toxic convertible debt.  Our most transformative event was the launch of our flagship GPS SmartSoles in late December, formally putting us into a revenue mode where we controlled our own destiny.  As we move into 2015, our primary focus is on sales and distribution of our GPS and BLE SmartSoles.  We have built a strong network of salespersons, international distributors, online affiliates, partners and vendors to accomplish this task.  In Q1 2015, we sold out of our first production run of 500 GPS SmartSoles, and we see demand continuing to increase in the early part of Q2.  It is extremely rewarding to be able to say we have turned the corner and 2015 is a brand new day in our company’s history. Being a pioneer in personal location and wearable technology, I can’t tell you how excited we are to see our products in the marketplace selling across multiple countries, providing innovative tracking and monitoring solutions. Last year we announced segmentation of our business into three primary product categories:  embedded, digital and all purpose.  The ‘embedded’ category includes products where our technology is hidden within a consumer friendly form factor.

“The wearable but invisible” GPS SmartSoles are the flagship within this category and are targeted for persons with cognitive memory disorders, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, and traumatic brain injury.  Our digital category offers apps and web products that allow people or organizations to track their persons of interest by using hardware they already own – namely, smartphones and tablets.  Our Track My Workforce app is a prime example, which enables businesses to track employees in the field in real time.  In our ‘all purpose’ category, we offer a myriad of miniaturized low power consumption tracking devices that can be used as desired by consumers or businesses seeking to track something or someone of value.  Our “all purpose” products are used to track drones, shipping containers, medical cargo, vehicles, pets and people, among other uses.

Across all 3 categories, we employ a razor / razor blade model.  We sell our hardware embedded with our technology, and we charge a monthly subscription fee for the data and service.  We seek to deploy as many of our products in the field as possible, and continue to grow our subscriber base of monthly recurring revenues.

In 2015, we expect to continue to invest in product development to enhance our core products and provide additional form factors for new vertical markets.  We are already in a product development cycle for the next generation of the electronics in our GPS SmartSoles which is expected to result in a smaller footprint, longer battery life, and additional tracking technologies such as WIFI and Bluetooth for indoor tracking. Our second generation hardware will enable us to enter into new markets such as children sized insoles, and will streamline our manufacturing and component procurement process reducing cost and increasing logistics efficiency.

Our initial traction for SmartSoles is in the “needs” market, where the product is a solution for someone who needs to be tracked regularly due to a cognitive memory disorder.  Persons with Alzheimer’s, autism, dementia, and traumatic brain injury all have high tendencies to wander.  Currently there are 100 million people worldwide who are part of this group and that number is expected to reach 277 million by 2050. We continue to believe that the approach of delivering wearable wandering assistive technologies to this challenged growing population is the most effective way to gain traction in the market place.

We are currently in several pilot programs with large organizations where, if successful, we would be in a position to sell thousands of units to a single enterprise.  We are generating strong awareness for our products on the retail front, and continue to see results from these efforts in direct consumer sales through our websites.  In addition, in 2015 we added key salespeople to our team covering domestic markets.  Our international distributors have seen success in Canada and in Europe, and we now are shipping and selling products in 13 countries worldwide.

“As we discussed in our last shareholder update, GTX continues its transition from the licensed GPS Shoe model to the direct product to user model and is focusing its efforts on product development and channel partner distribution,” commented Patrick Bertagna, Chief Executive Officer of GTX Corp. “As we begin finalizing our product development phase and get closer to a commercial launch we are starting to ramp up our marketing initiatives through – trade shows, social media campaigns, recent press and our existing global relationships, and have been successfully enrolling potential partners into our Pilot Programs. We are currently managing 10 – 15 inquiries per week and plan to enroll up to 100 pilots. We are working closely with select groups ranging from assisted living communities, health organizations, Int’l distributors, domestic resellers and sales organizations, advocacy groups and high profile influencers in the sports, media, academia, security, government, municipal and philanthropic organizations that we believe have the potential to result in large scale deployments in the future.”

U.S. patent No. 8,760,286 Reinforces the Value of the GTX IP Portfolio and Strengthens its Position in a Rapidly Growing Multi Billion Dollar Market

Los Angeles, Calif. – July 8, 2014 – GTX Corp. (OTCQB: GTXO), a leading provider of personal location wearable technologies, was granted another U.S. patent related to its location based monitoring platform. The recently issued U.S. patent No. 8,760,286 (the ‘286 patent) is a significant addition to the existing family of communication protocol patents and to GTX Corp’s overall patent portfolio. GTX delivers solutions to a growing global audience of over 100 million people with cognitive memory disorders, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, Autism and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and has been building its intellectual property portfolio of Patents, Trademarks and URL’s since 2002.

 

–        The inventions of the ‘286 patent and its 36 claims generally cover the transmission of location data from a tracking device, of any kind, to a server, in the event that the tracking device is at some point in time unable to connect to the server and consequently has to store the location data until it is again able to establish a communication link. This feature preserves the “bread crumb trail” even when the device goes temporarily out of communication range.  The inventions also enable the remote modification of how frequently a tracking device buffers location data when the device is unable to communicate with the server.

 

–    The patent is not just restricted to footwear but has far broader implications, effecting ANY tracking device from embedded devises as in the case of the GPS SmartSole™ or GPS watch for example to the ubiquitous stand alone, hand held devices.

 

–    Patent ‘286 is part of a family of patents that GTX has filed over the years related to communication protocols with priority filing dates going back to February 8, 2008. In addition the company continues to exercise its ability to file additional patents around inventions related to the same area of core GPS functionality with the same early priority date; allowing the significance and importance of the patent(s) to all GPS related products to expand and grow.

Enhanced Intellectual Property Portfolio Strengthens Position

Los Angeles, Calif. – March 19, 2014 – GTX Corp. (OTCQB: GTXO), a leading provider of personal location wearable technologies, was recently notified by the U.S. Patent Office that another patent has been allowed related to its innovative and potentially life saving location–based monitoring platform.

“This is a milestone event in our intellectual property roadmap,” commented Larry E. Henneman, Jr., GTX Corp’s patent counsel. “The allowed patent includes 38 claims, with 5 independent claims, directed to tracking devices and methods for remotely configuring the tracking devices. This will be the second of two patents in this family, which are significant because their claims are not limited to footwear.  The patents cover the claimed devices and configuration methods whether they are embedded in Wearables or as stand alone devices,which strengthens the Company’s already extensive IP portfolio and overall value.”  The allowed application will also serve as a basis for filing additional patent applications directed to other important aspects of the invention in the near future.
